We left Vietnam in the direction of China . Initially, we did not even stop at Hong Kong . After having bought our tickets 9 months ago, Hong Kong should be just a few hours of stop time to change planes. But Vietnamese authorities have decided otherwise. Having had problems with our Vietnamese visa, we had not had time to make a Chinese visa in Hanoi. Fortunately, Hong Kong is a destination that does not require a visa and where it is easy to get a Chinese visa. So we changed our itinerary to stay a few days in Hong Kong have time for that famous visa.

Our first day was mainly occupied by our Chinese visa and the reorganization of our itinerary. This was also the time of our first steps into the streets of Hong Kong. It is an ultra modern city, a financial leading, and it's always Asia, as saying that the explosive cocktail in an eyeful. The street, crushed by the heights of the building, seems cut a deep gorge in the midst of skyscrapers, or it seems tiny when you walk. The richness comes out in the demeusure Hong Kong is the city where there's more luxury cars in the world of skyscrapers all square meters, has malls all over the place ... Among the buildings are leading the IFC and " Convention and Exhibition Center. IFC is the financial center of Hong Kong is the largest city tour. The Convention Center is the cultural center it, or the great world of Hong Kong is found to attend an opera, a concert or a fashion show. The Convention Center has the largest window in the world (7 storeys high).

Hong Kong was also an opportunity to meet Gary the Pommy of our trek in Nepal. Gary has not changed, it is still fun and browse the streets of Hong Kong with him has given us a vision of how the youth of Hong Kong enjoys the evening.
Hong Kong by night
The second day took us to Raphael Lamma Island for a walk on the islands of Hong Kong. The day was very successful and enjoyable : After taking the ferry to the island, we climbed a small hill to see the view of the surroundings, before heading north of the island from passing through two beautiful beaches. Hong Kong showed us a second face, far from financial centers and skyscrapers, the municipality is full of islands and quiet forest parks.

Finally, Hong Kong was a step more than successful, our Chinese visa has been issued, and we could get to know the family of Corinne and Raphael, which can not can never thank enough for their hospitality and everything they have done for us. We'll take the train for Beijing, the Chinese capital is preparing to welcome the Olympics in less than twenty days.
